Send and Manage Contracts
Create a contract from your default template (build inline or upload a PDF), send it for signature, mark it collected, edit, resend, or archive it.
Bookings > Documents > Contracts
Open a booking, switch to the Documents tab, and find the Contracts section. From here you create, send, edit, resend, or archive the contract for this booking. Once accepted, every booking starts with a contract created from your default template - you can keep, edit, or replace it before sending.
Before you start
A contract needs three things to be ready to send:
- A default contract template - see Create and Manage Contract Templates.
- An email template assigned to the Default for Contract slot - see Set Default Email Templates.
- A signature saved on your business profile - set this in Business Details. Without it, Wendor blocks the send.
Create a contract
If the booking doesn't have a contract yet, click Create Contract in the Contracts section.

The contract form opens with two type options at the top:
- DETAILS (default) - build the contract inline using your default template's rich text. Merge fields fill in automatically when sent (couple name, wedding date, deposit amount, and so on - see Using Merge Fields).
- UPLOAD - upload a PDF you've already drafted outside Wendor.
Fields
- Template Name (required) - pre-filled from your default contract template. Rename if you want.
- Contract Type (required) - DETAILS or UPLOAD.
- Contract Details (required when DETAILS) - rich text body. Type
@to insert a merge field. - Contract File (required when UPLOAD) - a PDF file.
- Email Subject (required) - pre-filled from the Default for Contract email template. Edit per booking.
- Email Body (required) - rich text, also pre-filled from the default email template.

Send the contract
- Open the contract on the booking.
- Click Send Contract.
- Wendor sends the contract email to the couple with a link to sign electronically.
The booking's status updates to Contract Sent.
Contract statuses
A contract carries one of four states:
- Draft - created but not sent.
- Sent - emailed to the couple, awaiting signature.
- Signed - the couple opened the link and signed electronically. Booking status updates to Contract Signed.
- Collected - you marked it signed manually because the couple signed outside Wendor.

Mark as collected (signed outside Wendor)
If the couple signed a physical or PDF copy and you don't need them to sign through Wendor, click Mark as Collected on the contract. The booking status updates to Contract Collected. No email is sent.

Edit a contract
You can edit a contract as long as it hasn't been Signed.
- Open the contract on the booking and click Edit.
- Change the body, switch the contract type, replace the uploaded file, or update the email subject/body.
- Click Save (if not yet sent) or Save and Resend (if already sent - sends a fresh email with the updated contract and replaces the previous one).
Resend a contract
Already sent the contract but the couple needs it again? Open the contract and choose Resend (or Save and Resend if you also made edits). A fresh email goes out.
Delete a contract
You can delete a contract only while it's still a Draft (not yet sent or collected). Open the contract and choose Delete.
Once a contract has been sent, signed, or collected, the delete option goes away - use Archive if you need to retire it.
Archive a contract
Archiving moves an old contract out of view without removing it from the booking's history. Pick Archive from the contract's menu to do so.
