Create and Manage Email Templates

Build email templates with subject, body, and merge fields, preview them, archive or delete them.

Templates > Emails

The Emails tab is your library of reusable email templates - the actual messages Wendor sends to couples. From here you can create new templates, preview them on desktop and mobile, archive ones you no longer use, and delete ones you don't need. Setting default templates per message type is covered separately in Set Default Email Templates.

Create an email template

  1. Open Templates and click the Emails tab.

Fields

  • Template Name (required) - your own label for finding the template later. E.g. "Friendly deposit invoice".
  • Subject (required) - the subject line couples see in their inbox. Merge fields work here too.
  • Email Body (optional) - rich text, up to 2,000 characters. Type @ anywhere to insert a merge field. You can leave this empty for templates that only need a subject (rare).

Preview an email template

Click Preview to see the rendered email.

  • Shows the subject, the from address (your business name and email), and the body.
  • Toggle between Desktop and Mobile view.
  • If the body is empty, the preview reads "No email content".

Edit an email template

  1. From the Emails list, open the row's Actions menu () and choose View / Edit.

  1. Click Edit in the page header.
  2. Update the name, subject, or body.
  3. Click Save.

The template list shows your edits straight away.

Email type badges

Email templates show extra badges in the list when they're set as the default for a specific message type - e.g. "Default for Contract" or "Default for Final Invoice". See Set Default Email Templates for what each badge means and how to assign them.

Archive (and unarchive)

Archived email templates disappear from the picker when sending emails, but stay in your library.

  1. Open the Actions menu on the row.
  2. Choose Archive (or Unarchive). Use the Status filter at the top of the table to find archived items.

Delete an email template

Deletion is permanent and asks for confirmation.

  1. Open the Actions menu and choose Delete.
  2. Confirm in the dialog.
