Mail Settings
Connect an email provider (Gmail or SMTP) so Wendor can send emails and run automations on your behalf.
WAWritten by Wendor Admin
Settings > Mail Settings
Visit this tab to connect an email provider - Gmail or SMTP - so Wendor can send booking confirmations, questionnaires, invoices, reminders, and other automations on your behalf. You only need to connect one provider, and you can switch or update it later.
Before you start
You'll need credentials for the provider you want to connect:
- For Gmail - a Google account you can sign in to (no app password needed; Wendor uses Google sign-in).
- For SMTP - your provider's host (e.g.
smtp.gmail.com), port, username (full email), and password ready. For Gmail via SMTP you'll also need 2-Step Verification on and a 16-character App Password generated.
Open Mail Settings
- Click your profile in the top-right and choose Setting.

- The Settings page opens on the Mail Settings tab by default. If not, click it.

Option A - Connect via Gmail
The quickest way to connect. Wendor uses Google sign-in, so you never enter your Google password into Wendor.
- In the Email Settings card, leave Connecting via Gmail selected.
- Click Connect via Google Account.

- On Google's screen, pick your account and approve the permissions. Wendor asks for Send email on your behalf and Google Calendar access.

- You're returned to Wendor and the card switches to the connected state - "You have an email provider connected. You can edit your preferences if needed." - with the account avatar and "Connected to your email address".

Option B - Connect via SMTP
Use this to connect any email provider that supports SMTP (including Gmail via an app password). You'll enter your server details manually.
- In the Email Settings card, choose Connecting via SMTP.
- Fill in the four SMTP fields (see below). The Connect SMTP button sits in the top-right of the card.

- Click Connect SMTP to save and connect.
Fields
- SMTP Host (required) - your provider's outgoing mail server, e.g.
smtp.gmail.com. - SMTP Port (required) - a valid port number greater than 0, e.g.
465. Whole numbers only. - SMTP Username (required) - must be a valid email address (your full email).
- SMTP Password (required) - your SMTP / app password. For Gmail this is a 16-character App Password, not your normal Google password.
