About Onboarding
The two-step onboarding flow you go through after verifying your email, what's locked until you finish, and how Wendor saves your progress.
Onboarding is the short setup wizard Wendor runs once, the first time you sign in after verifying your email. It collects your contact details and your business details so couples have something to look at and Wendor has enough to start automating the boring bits. Until onboarding is finished, the rest of the app is locked.
When onboarding starts
Right after verifying your email, Wendor signs you in automatically and drops you on the /onboarding page. If you sign out and come back later, Wendor checks your account state - if you're still in Onboarding Pending, you're sent straight back to /onboarding on every sign-in until you finish.
The two steps
- Step 1 - Contact Details - your name, phone number, profile photo, country, and county. See Onboarding Step 1: Contact Details.
- Step 2 - Business Details - your company info, business category, bio, portfolio, video links, and social media. See Onboarding Step 2: Business Details.
A progress indicator at the top shows which step you're on. Continue moves you forward; Back lets you return to the previous step without losing what you've filled in.
Skipping isn't an option
You can't skip onboarding. Wendor needs the data in both steps before any of the booking, contract, invoice, or messaging features can work. The only thing inside onboarding that's optional is the website-scraping step (more on that in Step 2).
Your progress is saved automatically
Everything you type into the form is saved to your browser as you go. If you close the tab, switch devices, or come back tomorrow, your half-filled form is right where you left it next time you open /onboarding. The save is per-account, so signing in on a different browser starts with a clean form (unless Wendor's already scraped some data for you).
What's locked until you finish
While your account is in Onboarding Pending:
- The main app (Bookings, Calendar, Messages, etc.) is unreachable - Wendor redirects you back to
/onboarding. - Your 14-day subscription trial hasn't started yet. It only kicks off the moment onboarding completes - so finishing today means your trial starts today.
- The starter templates Wendor tailors to your business category haven't been seeded into your account yet. They land the moment you submit Step 2.
What happens at the end
When you submit Step 2, Wendor does a lot in one go - see What Wendor Sets Up When You Finish Onboarding for the full list.
